definition of Hungry is
- experiencing a desire or need for food
- extremely desirous
- characterized by or expressing hunger or craving
- lacking richness or fertility
There is a song that says
"hungry I come to you for I know you satisfy, I am weary but I know your love restores my life."When we are hungry we have pangs, cravings, we feel desperate, we are searching for food, we have a need for fulfillment, and a yearning, we can't concentrate, and we feel empty.
And when we finally get to eat food we feel satisfied, and sometimes we leave room for dessert.
But there is also another kind of hunger. A kind of hunger that we feel that can only be fulfilled by Christ.
Have you ever just felt like something was missing in your life? Like you have all that you want or desire but there is always something else missing? That something is Jesus Christ. You see God created us all with a "God shaped hole" that only He can fill. You can keep trying to satisfy that hunger with people, objects, drugs, alcohol, and all sorts of other things but there will always be that void. Jesus said in John 6:35
"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never go thirsty."Jesus is not talking in the physical sense of hunger and thirst here. He is talking about the spiritual sense.
No matter if you are rich and powerful you still get hungry. The Bible says in Psalms 34:10
"The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing."When you hunger and thirst after righteousness you can only find it in the Lord Jesus Christ.. As long as you keep following after everything else you will never be satisfied. In Isaiah 65:13 it says
"my servants will eat, drink, and rejoice but you will go hungry, thirsty, and be put to shame."Now I don't know about you but I sure don't want to go hungry. It's definitely not a feeling I enjoy. As a matter of fact when I get hungry I get angry. I become grouchy and irritated. I'm really not fun to be around. In Proverbs there are a few more scriptures that I'd like to share with you.
Proverbs 13:25
"The righteous eat to their hearts' content, but the stomach of the wicked goes hungry."Proverbs 10:3
"The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked."Even the "wicked" need Christ. Everyone is searching for something and they only "something" that can satisfy is Jesus. Proverbs 25:21 says "If your enemy is hungry give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink." You can give him the physical food and water, but he needs the spiritual food and water more, and in that sense He will never hunger or thirst again.
Don't go "Starvin" yourself now, and don't go "eating" all the junk food the world has to offer because you still will be hungry. Feed upon the Lord and all his goodness, and you will never hunger or thirst again.

I have often heard what comes from the Heart touches the Heart and Melinda, my heart was touched and I say thank you and thanks God.
Melinda, first off girl I am starvin' and hungry for a word and last night I was fed, and was full of the word for that I thank you, also Pastor Melinda you have really scored a "TouchDown" you have the ability to take the word of God and put it into real life situations and make it plain for all to understand, and then you get personal and add your "flavor" and some is "raw flavor" to your message and that is to be commended, complimented and encouraged, so honey allow me to encourage you to stay on the battlefield, continue to feed the flock and continue to be who and what God is calling you to be.
Jerry I also need to encourage you as well, when God touches one person in such a way as this, the affect will go throughout the family and the household, and this may be a trying time for you and your household and I just want to remind you that only what we do for Christ will last, not sure what the duties or a "Pastor's husband" are and I am sure God will direct your path.
May you both continue in the word and continue to be "Chosen Vessels" for the Master's use, Melinda, may you receive all the blessings that God has stored up for you, as you continue to Bless others, God will surely bless you and your Ministry and your household.
Be bless and know that you are forever in my heart and prayers
love Connie
