Accepting Christ

Accepting Christ as your personal Savior is easy as: ABC

A - Admit that you are a SINNER.

Romans 3:23 says "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. 

1John 1:8 says "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

B - Believe that Christ was crucified for your sins, was nailed to the cross, died, and was rose again on the third day and NOW sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. 

Acts 16:31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”  

Eph 2:8 ⁸ For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

C - Confess with your mouth you sins and that Jesus is Lord, and that you will follow His will and purpose for the rest of your life.  That it is no longer you who lives but Christ who lives in you.

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Matthew 10:32  “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

 Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message Bible)^28-30"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Isa 43:10-11¹⁰ “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me  and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. ¹¹ I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.

You CANNOT save yourself!!  There is NOTHING you can do to earn your way to heaven. ONLY Jesus Christ can save you.

Titus 3 ³ At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

You MUST be Born Again!   What does it mean to be born again?  Does it mean you enter your mother's womb a second time?  No, Jesus is talking about being born of the Spirit.  See below...

John 3 ³ Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.⁵ Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. ⁶ Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit^[b] gives birth to spirit.   ¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. ¹⁸ Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

You can invite Jesus into your heart by doing the above mentioned.  But I'd like to say a prayer with you.  You don't have to say this prayer but you can say one of your own.

Prayer - Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that I am a sinner,  I believe that you are the one and only son of God, that you died and rose again and now sit at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.  I ask for forgiveness of the sins that I have committed against you.  Please forgive me of my past sins.  I committ myself to you Oh' Lord.  I'm leaving my past behind.  I'm looking forward to a new life in you Christ Jesus.  And from this day forward I will read my Bible, pray, and have not a religion but a relationship with you.  I love you Lord and I will serve you all the days of my life.

In Jesus' precious and Holy name...Amen!!

Welcome to the Family of God!  I trust that you have meant what you have prayed and that you will find a church to go to and learn more about God and the Bible.  Keep moving forward and don't just stop here..Jesus said if you keep your life (the way it always has been) you will lose it, but if you lose your life for my sake you will find it (a new life in Him.)
