Do you believe in "ghost?"

Ephesians 6:12 - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I had a discussion last night about weather or not I believed in ghost.  My answer was that it was not so much that I believe in ghost but I do believe in spirits definitely.

In Mark Chapter 5 Jesus met a man who hung out in tombs and was possessed by spirits.  Nothing could hold this man not even chains because he broke them into pieces. He was always screaming, and beating and bruising himself.  He saw Jesus from a distance and fell at his feet and cried with a loud voice, What have You to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?  What is there in common between us?  Don't begin to torment me!  Then Jesus commanded, Come out of him, you unclean spirit!  Jesus asked the spirit, What is your name?  He replied, My name is Legion, for we are many.  Jesus GAVE them PERMISSION and entered into the hogs; and the herd, numbering about 2,000, rushed head first down the steep slope into the sea and were drowned.

John 14:12 (KJV)Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Now there is a process to driving out spirits you cannot just go up to a demon possessed person and drive out spirits.  When you look into the eyes of a demonic spirit what he sees cannot be himself.  It must be Christ that he sees in you.

Acts 19:11-16 (NIV) 11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. 13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

So do I believe in spirits?  The answer is yes!  I do believe in spirits, ghost no, spirits yes.
