The BEST kinda gift

It's that time of year again..and my most favorite Holiday...CHRISTmas!  Now I know that everyone has their opinion and may even have facts as to why or why not to celebrate Christmas, but I celebrate it NOT because of Santa, Elves, Rudolph, and other factitious characters but for one reason..and that reason is Jesus!!  You can find the story of Jesus' birth here.  Jesus' birth was predicted in the old testament before he was even born you can find that here.

Although I celebrate Jesus' birth everyday, their is just a totally different atmosphere around CHRISTmas time.  Even at the time of Jesus' birth the atmosphere changed.  There was a New Star (also known as the star of David) placed in the universe right over where Jesus' laid.  The wise men (astrologers) that studied stars saw this and followed it to where they found the newborn King.  They came bearing gifts for King Jesus and expensive ones at that gold, frankincense and myrrh.  Just for those that may not know what frankincense and myrrh are you can check it out here.

I love to give gifts at any time..not just at Christmas.  I love watching the expression on peoples faces when they open it up to find out what is inside. 

The Bible says in Matthew 7:11 that If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

  Now I know that I've given my children some really good and expensive gifts at Christmas but let me tell you that I would rather have what God has to offer me as gifts than anything that I could ever get at Christmas or any other day.

God has given me some really good gifts.  I'm not talking just material gifts but spiritual gifts.  Just as you choose what kind of gift to give to others God chooses what gift or gifts He will give, and and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.  

 This time of year is a time for reflecting on what God has given us.  God has given us the best gift of all he gave us His ONLY son Jesus.  God did not have any other sons, he only had one and we call him Emmanuel which means God with us, and because of this we are free.
