As I was studying this Chapter I began to try and put myself in Daniel's shoes. I mean imagine yourself on the beach with a few friends and all of a sudden you got this vision...
Daniel 10
In verse 6 it says His body was like chrysolite in the NIV version, but in the KJV it says Beryl. I was looking up the color of chrysolite and found mostly green. Then my fleshly mind starting wondering..was Daniel seeing an alien...lol. But upon further research I found that - Beryl, not well known to the general public, is one of the most important gem minerals. Beryl is colorless in pure form. The many different impurities give beryl its varied coloration. Without these splendid color varieties, beryl would be a rather ordinary gemstone with only average fire and brilliance. Emerald is the green and aquamarine is the blue variety of beryl. The name beryl is used for the red and golden varieties.http://www.gemselect.com/gem-info/beryl/beryl-info.php
His face was like lightning. You know when lightning strikes and flashes how you like squint your eyes and tense up? I believe this is what Daniel did when he saw his face.
And his eyes like lamps of fire or flaming torches. Most people I know love to sit around a fire, weather it be a camp fire or a fireplace. We have fire in our house like candles. It is intreaging to us to watch, and for me personally it's very peaceful. Do you think this is what Daniel saw when he looked into his eyes?
