Luke 6:45

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

A Friend

Ok...so some time ago I was talking to a "friend" of mine about God.  Of course the first thing she said was "I don't want to hear about it".  Now it kinda gets to me that people want to pick and choose what they want to believe about God.  How did you hear about Him in the first place?  AND why is it that you believe what you do about Him now?  What makes you believe what you do?

I wanted to tell her what the Bible says about heaven, and how it is that you get there.  She would have nothing to do with it.  According to her and in her words she said "you're not gonna tell me I'm not going to heaven, I'm a good person."  So she obviously believes in a heaven right?  How does she know about it and how did she come to believe that there is a heaven?  Obviously I couldn't reason with her or show her what the Bible says about this issue because she was already in a "hostile" mood.

But what the Bible does say about going to heaven is this:
  • Jesus said that noone can get there except thru him - John 14:6
  • He said there is noone that is good not even one person - Romans 3:10-12
  • Nothing we can do in ourselves will get us to heaven - Ephesians 2:8-10
So how is it that you get to go there then; if there is nothing you can do and there is not even one good person?  Here's what Jesus said
  • The we ALL sin and are short of Gods glory And the cost of sin is death - Romans 6:22-23
  • God gave is ONE and ONLY son to die for our sins - John 3:16
  • He said that if we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouth He is Lord we shall be saved - Romans 10:10-13
To read more about being saved read the book of Romans otherwise known to Christians as Romans Road.

So I am praying, and if you will pray also that I will be able to speak with her again and will be able to lead her to Christ.  It has been several years since I attempted to talk with her about this, but I do still speak with her on a regular basis.

"A Christian blog which is full of truth and power. I love the way it does not "sugar coat" biblical truths as sometimes is often done. If you want to read the absolute truth of God's word, this is definetely the blog to visit, read and follow. "

"What a great blog, I am glad I found it. I am now following you. I loved reading your testimony. I was born again 3 years ago myself after a life full of sin and destruction. My life has changed dramatically and I devote my whole life to Jesus. I wish more would do the same. God bless you for your blog!"
